A thrilling weekend for Enrico Onofri:
Between performances of Il Trionfo dell’onore, he will conduct the Orchestra of Teatro La Fenice in two concerts dedicated to 18th-century music at the Malibran Theatre.
Friday, 14 March and Sunday 16 March
Enrico Onofri returns to the Malibran Theatre on 14th and 16th March to lead a programme exploring 18th-century music. Currently performing the final runs of Il Trionfo dell’onore by Scarlatti at the same venue, Maestro Onofri will conduct the Orchestra of Teatro La Fenice in a concert that brings to life the grace and passion of the Enlightenment era. The programme will alternate between well-known works and hidden gems, as Onofri explains: “We’ll explore a lesser-known side of the Age of Enlightenment, one that’s just as captivating as Mozart and Haydn: that of Boccherini, Kraus and Michael Haydn (Franz Joseph’s brother) who helped shape the instrumental language with equal fervour—a lyrical, passionate symphonism.”
The concert on 14th March will be preceded by talk with musicologist Roberto Mori (free entry), who will present the programme from 7:20 p.m. to 7:40 p.m., offering a deeper insight into the pieces being performed.
